A Wet-Into-Wet Stroke

Be aware of how the wet base color will alter the color you’re adding, because the color of the stroke actually changes as it progresses. In this example the yellow mixes with the blue base to create green, even with the single stroke.

Brush Shape Affects Beginning Shape of Stroke

As indicated in chapter three, each type of brush makes a distinctive mark. These characteristics can come into play in all sorts of applications, especially when executing loose and painterly passages. Rather than painstakingly delineating and filling in areas of color, you can deftly suggest many things with the proper use of a single stroke of the right shape brush.
